Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, 
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim, 
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I ~
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

上基督教文學名著選讀時讀到這首詩，作者Robert Frost在1916年寫下。
這首詩的大意如下（嘗試翻譯，錯誤之處敬請指教）：

在黃樹林裡有兩條分叉的路，
很遺憾，我分身乏術無法兩條路都走，
所以就不走那條可以鑽進矮樹叢的那條路。

後來我選擇另一條看起來一樣美的路，
這條路上綠草如茵、人煙絕跡，很需要有人去走動，

這兩條路在早晨時同樣躺臥在樹葉中，
無人走過、留下痕跡，
改天我再來走第一條路吧！我心裡這麼想。
不過即使我知道這條路會跟哪條路相連結，
但是，我想我大概不可能再回過頭來走它了。

我將會帶著嘆息代代傳訴著這首詩，
在樹林中有兩條分叉的路，
而我，
我選擇那條人煙稀少的路徑走，
那使我的一切都全然不同。

下定決心獻身，然後順利的在神學院唸書；
即將完成學業之際，眼前又出現不同的道路，要我去選擇。
無論是走哪條路，都會是一條人煙稀少的道路，而且不會再回頭......
這條路會接到哪條路呢？
